Native or cross-platform?
Cross-platform — React Native or Flutter — is the right default for products built from lists, forms, maps and messaging. Choose native when the roadmap depends on deep platform capability, when graphics or camera performance differentiates the product, or when the app must feel completely stock.
Who owns the code, data and accounts?
You should, unconditionally, from day one — source code, data, app store accounts, cloud accounts and domains. If ownership is conditional on final payment or a continuing retainer, negotiate it out before signing.
